Deepening Sino-Japanese Cooperation in the Green Materials Industry

2025 Year 3 Month 24 Day, World 500 On [Date], Yusaku Hanada, President of the Rubber Division of Marubeni Corporation, a leading Japanese company, led a delegation to visit Anhui Evolution Silicon Nanomaterials Technology Co., Ltd. and Anhui Guorite New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. This visit focused on strategic cooperation in the fields of bio-based materials and recycling technologies, injecting new impetus into Sino-Japanese cooperation in the circular economy.

As a company with 167  years of history, Marubeni Corporation's Rubber Division covers 84  countries globally and boasts a global leading advantage in resource development, international trade, and new materials. This visit focused on the two core technologies of Anhui Evolution Silicon and Guorite:

1 Anhui Evolution Silicon Nanomaterials Technology Co., Ltd.

Using rice husk ash as a raw material, it innovatively develops bio-based nano-white carbon black technology. The product is green and low-carbon, and is widely used in tires, rubber and plastics.

2 Anhui Guorite New Materials Technology Co., Ltd.

Deeply cultivating the field of recycled carbon black, it has independently developed an integrated process of "waste tire pyrolysis and carbon black activation," producing high value-added recycled carbon black. Its various indicators are comparable to international Brands, filling the gap in high-end recycled carbon black in China. The Marubeni Corporation Rubber Division team visited the Evolution Silicon white carbon black production workshop, the Guorite exhibition hall, and the recycled carbon black laboratory. They gave high praise to the two companies' technological breakthroughs in the "rice husk white carbon black" and "waste tire recycled carbon black" dual-cycle industrial chains.

At the symposium, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on technological characteristics, market demand, and industrial ecology.

Technological complementarity: The innovative processes of Chinese companies (rice husks, straw high value-added utilization of waste tires) and Japan's global market experience form a "technology market" closed loop.

Strategic alignment: Marubeni's positioning as a "global resource integrator" is highly compatible with Anhui's plan for a "green materials industry highland." Both sides will jointly explore circular economy projects along the Belt and Road.

Demonstration effect: As key "specialized, refined, and new" enterprises cultivated by Anhui Province, the technologies of Evolution Silicon and Guorite have been included in the "Anhui Province's 14th Five-Year Plan for Circular Economy Development." This cooperation is expected to set a new benchmark for Sino-Japanese low-carbon technology cooperation.

From rice husk to white carbon black, from waste tyres to recycled carbon black, Anhui Evolution Silicon and Gurit have illustrated the charm of circular economy with the technology of ‘turning waste into gold’. The visit of Marubeni Rubber Branch is not only a high recognition of China's green material industry, but also a practical action for Chinese and Japanese enterprises to join hands to address the global climate challenge. With the advancement of cooperation, the three parties are expected to create a model of cooperation of ‘Chinese technology + Japanese experience + global market’ in the field of bio-based materials and solid waste resources, contributing to the industrial strength to achieve the goal of ‘dual-carbon’ and promote the sustainable development of mankind.

Anhui Jinhua Silicon Nano Materials Technology Co., Ltd. relies on the technical support of Beijing University of Chemical Technology and the strong research team led by Academician Zhang Liqun. After more than 10 years of joint research and development, the company has made breakthrough progress in the preparation of bio-based silica new material technology. They have independently created a complete set of process technology and related equipment for the preparation of bio-based silica using the carbonic acid method. This technology utilizes renewable resources such as rice husks and straw as raw materials, replacing sulfuric acid with carbon dioxide as the precipitating reagent, and can produce bio-based silica with a specific surface area of 50 to 500 m²/g.
