Rice husk white carbon black: Opportunities and Innovations from Rice By-products
Anhui Jinhua Silicon Nano Materials Technology Co., Ltd. relies on the technical support of Beijing University of Chemical Technology and the strong research team led by Academician Zhang Liqun. After more than 10 years of joint research and development, the company has made breakthrough progress in the preparation of bio-based silica new material technology. They have independently created a complete set of process technology and related equipment for the preparation of bio-based silica using the carbonic acid method. This technology utilizes renewable resources such as rice husks and straw as raw materials, replacing sulfuric acid with carbon dioxide as the precipitating reagent, and can produce bio-based silica with a specific surface area of 50 to 500 m²/g.

On May 12, the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation organized experts in Beijing to conduct a technical review of the company's "Annual Production of 90,000 Tons of Spray Carbonization Method for Carbon Neutral Silica Production Line" project regarding carbon reduction and carbon neutrality. The expert group held a project carbon reduction demonstration meeting and, after multiple rounds of analysis and verification, concluded that this project employs negative carbon technology, significantly reducing carbon dioxide emissions and contributing to the achievement of carbon neutrality goals. They agreed to pass the review.

Goodyear sets goal to double use of rice husk ash silica by 2021
Goodyear started exploring the use of RHA silica in 2013 with positive results. RHA silica is now firmly entrenched in Goodyear's materials portfolio and used across several of its global manufacturing facilities. The company is now working closely with its suppliers to further expand the use of RHA silica and has set a goal to double its use by 2021.
